The amount of a particular Real Estate Tax installment may be reduced because of a credit on your account. Such credits are usually caused by overpayments, but it could also be an invalid credit resulting from taxes paid for a different property that were accidentally applied to your property. If you think the credit is invalid, you should add the amount of the credit to your tax payment. That will prevent you from getting a delinquency bill when the mistake is corrected.
