Mayor Bloomberg, Senators, Representatives and District Attorneys Announce $29 Million in Stimulus Funds Will Be Used to Support Criminal Justice Programs and Keep New York the Safest Big City in the Country
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, members of Congress and City district attorneys today announced that New York City will receive $29.1 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to support criminal justice activities. The funding, from the Justice Assistance Grant program, will launch a new Financial Crime Task Force and create Project CleanUp, which will take greater advantage of community service sentences to address local quality of life concerns, such as graffiti and litter.

Mayor Bloomberg Announces Return and Expansion of Summer Streets and More Than 1,500 Free Summer Events Throughout New York City
Mayor Bloomberg today announced the return and expansion of the Summer Streets program and more than 1,500 free summer events throughout New York City.  Summer Streets will again bring temporary car-free streets, healthy activities and free weekend summer recreation - now to a total of 14 locations throughout the Five Boroughs - through September.

Mayor Bloomberg Announces City's $100 Million Acquisition of the 30-Acre Hunter's Point South Parcel
Mayor Bloomberg today announced the $100 million acquisition of 30 acres at Hunter's Point South in Long Island City. The site was acquired from the Empire State Development Corporation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and will become the largest middle income housing development since the 1970's.

Mayor Bloomberg and Schools Chancellor Klein Announce That High School Graduation Rate Rises Above 60 Percent, Marking the Seventh Consecutive Year of Gains
Mayor Bloomberg and Schools Chancellor Klein today announced that New York City's four-year high school graduation rate rose to a new high of 60.7 percent in 2008, marking the first time the City's graduation rate has surpassed 60 percent according to the State Education Department, which released the data today.

Mayor Bloomberg Presents FY 2010 Preliminary Budget
Mayor Bloomberg today presented a Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 Preliminary Budget and an updated four-year financial plan. The Mayor outlined a plan to close a $4 billion deficit for FY 2010 through nearly $1 billion in new agency gap closing actions, keeping controllable expenses virtually flat as well as revenue enhancements, including possible sales tax increases and long-term cost containment measures such as pension reform and efforts to reign in employee health care costs.

Mayor Bloomberg Releases 2005 Campaign Accountability Report
Mayor Bloomberg today released his third Campaign Accountability Report, showing that nearly a year and a half after Election Day 2005, 96% of the 100 campaign promises the Mayor made during the 2005 campaign have either been fully implemented or are currently being implemented.
