Updated Commercial Bicyclist Laws In Effect
The Department of Transportation (DOT) launched the nation’s largest comprehensive commercial cycling education and safety campaign, which included hosting 33 forums citywide, educating business and delivery cyclists about the law’s requirements, and conducted door-to-door outreach to more than 4,000 businesses to explain the safety requirements. Businesses that employ delivery cyclists must provide safety equipment, including lights, a helmet, bell and apparel, as well as post the commercial cyclist safety poster.
