Mayor Bloomberg, First Deputy Mayor Harris, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development Lieber and Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation (GIPEC) President Leslie Koch today initiated the demolition of Liberty Village, a cluster of 10 buildings on the island’s southern end not built to City building code standards.

Mayor Bloomberg Swears-in Robert Limandri As New York City Buildings Commissioner

Mayor Bloomberg this morning swore-in Robert LiMandri as Commissioner of the Department of Buildings. LiMandri, who has more than 19 years of engineering, real estate and construction management experience in the private and nonprofit sectors, has served as Acting Commissioner since April 2008 and has been part of the Department of Buildings' senior management since 2002.

Mayor Bloomberg Presents $59.1 Billion FY 2009 Executive Budget
Mayor Bloomberg today announced his Fiscal Year (FY) 2009 Executive Budget and presented an updated four-year financial plan for New York City. The $59.1 billion budget maintains the City's firm financial footing in the near term by reining in expenditures across the city, with city-funded spending expected to only grow by 0.1 percent.

Mayor Bloomberg Releases 2005 Campaign Accountability Report
Mayor Bloomberg today released his third Campaign Accountability Report, showing that nearly a year and a half after Election Day 2005, 96% of the 100 campaign promises the Mayor made during the 2005 campaign have either been fully implemented or are currently being implemented.
