The TLC is requesting updated information about medallion and
vehicle leasing, and requests that the public assist by answering the questions
on our website. These questions are your opportunity to make sure
TLC has the information it needs to engage in its mandatory review as set forth
in its Rules. As you may know, the TLC will hold a public hearing on lease caps
on March 18th 2008 at 10:00 a.m. This hearing will be held at 40 Rector Street
on the 5th Floor. It is important for the TLC to explore current leasing
trends and practices, and questions are designed to provide our agency with
detailed information about leasing. If you are interested in speaking at
the hearing you will also have the opportunity to do so, however, testimony will
be limited to three minutes per speaker. Therefore, we encourage you to provide
written comments of any length by Wednesday, April 30, 2008. The TLC is also
available to meet with anyone regarding lease caps and leasing practices.
You should call the Office of Constituent Affairs at 212-676-1024 if you would
like to schedule a meeting to talk about medallion leasing. Please refer to the
hearing public notice to obtain information on how to testify or submit
testimony.
