WIB Committees - Committed to Performance, Collaboration and Innovation
The action-oriented committee structure of the New York City Workforce Investment Board has enabled the WIB to become more vibrant and effective, and has empowered members to take on greater leadership roles in the City's workforce system. Permanent WIB committees include:
The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee acts on behalf of the WIB on all policy, performance management, fiscal and administrative issue related to the local workforce investment system.
The Workforce Policy Committee
The Workforce Policy Committee sets policies for the City's workforce investment system, leads workforce advocacy initiatives, and oversees the activities of non-permanent Workgroups.
The Employer Engagement Committee
The Employer Engagement Committee leads the WIB's efforts to forge actionable partnerships between employers and the workforce system, conducting outreach, raising system visibility, and bringing critical business perspectives and labor market information to workforce system decision-making.
The Youth Council
The Youth Council oversees the performance of WIA-funded programs for in-school and out-of-school youth. It is responsible for developing strategies to address the critical workforce challenges facing the City's youth population.
