The green economy
encompasses a variety of areas including construction, design,
distribution, materials manufacturing, policy, remediation,
service providers and waste management. Our definition of “green
jobs” includes any job that directly touches an end product
or service that has a net positive impact on the environment.
In practice, green jobs are typically existing job classifications
that require the updating and enhancing of skills. Some green
jobs are associated with new, growing businesses spurred by
both investment and demand for energy efficiency, climate action
and sustainability.
