The
Applicant Processing Division is working on a new system which when
completed will enable applicants to prepare all Applicant Processing Division
documentation via the internet. APD investigators will be able to access
candidate documents via the internet (webpage). Additionally, investigators will be able
to create and complete an investigation by computer. The entire case will be stored within
each investigator’s computer documents and APD Investigative Units Supervisors
will have the ability to review prepared cases by their investigators via the
new system. Additionally,
supervisors will have the ability to send cases back to investigators for
correction or to the Division’s Executives for finalization.
Currently, the system is in the testing phase with police officer
examination # 8305. There are two hundred ninety-two (292) candidates on this
examination. Police officer
candidates on this list where given access to the paperless system
webpage. Once the
system is functioning all candidates for police officer will be granted
access.
The new system is expected to be
finalized in early 2009.
