How to Pay Rent

Whether you pay your rent by phone, by mail, by ePayment on NYCHA’s website, or in person at a payment center, rent is due on the first day of each month. Paying your rent, and paying it on time, is the most important thing you can do each month to support the essential services and amenities in your development. Residents who do not pay their rent on time are subject to legal fees and possible eviction. If you have an unexpected change in your income, please see your development manager. We can help you get financial counseling or adjust your rent, if warranted.

You can pay your rent by one of the following options:

Online Rent Payment
Pay Rent by Phone
Pay Rent at an Authorized Bank
Mail Rent Payments
Pay Rent at an Authorized Payment Center
Pay Rent via Payroll Deductions
Payments made by HRA
Payments on behalf of a Resident

Online Rent Payment
Residents will be able to pay their monthly rent bills and other charges due to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) via eCheck for a fee of $1.00 or via Visa or MasterCard Debit Cards for a convenience fee. NYCHA was able to negotiate a lower fee with the vendor (see attached revised Fee Schedule). This fee is collected by the payment processing vendor and is not assessed by the New York City Housing Authority. The ePayment system is quick, convenient and secure and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
