What to Expect When You Come to RES
Intake- Information session (Orientation):
You will be greeted by our staff and attend an information session where our staff will provide you with an overview of all our services which include referrals for employment, training, GED and ESL classes, apprenticeships, resume workshops, etc. You will be assigned a specialist who will assist you in achieving your goal.
Prior to your appointment you can download and print the Customer Information Form and have it validated by your Management Office. Please bring the validated application with you to your Orientation Session.
Career Counseling, Job Development:

Our Career Specialists will help you develop a career plan and attain necessary skills to help you reach your goal. They can refer you for training and educational opportunities.

The Revitalizing Downtown Brooklyn Career and Job Fair is an excellent opportunity for job seekers to meet employers who are offering full and part time positions - many with great benefits.
Resident Employment Services encourages you to attend our pre-job fair workshop. In our workshop we will critique your resume and suggest ways to perfect it as well as provide you with tips on how to write effective cover letters. The workshop will inform you of the types of employers who will be participating in the Job Fair; how to apply for a position, and the most effective ways to follow up with employers.

Section 3/Resident Employment Program (REP)
Section 3 and Resident Employment Program (REP) are two programs that create opportunities for NYCHA residents to work in the construction trades. These are temporary work assignments at our Developments.

Workforce 1
Resident Employment Services works closely with Workforce 1 Career Centers located in all five boroughs. They offer comprehensive assessments, referrals, and job placements. In Workforce 1's Career Resource Room, you will have access to computers and the internet. Additionally, Workforce 1 can help you prepare and distribute your resume; give you access to fax and photocopying machines; help you improve your typing skills; and tell you about employment opportunities.
