JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Office of the Chief Information Officer is seeking a J2EE Developer to work on integration efforts which involve various disparate systems, under general supervision with broad scope for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop, modify, test and implement SOAP/Rest Web Services in JAVA and BPEL.
- Develop J2EE applications to accommodate business needs.
- Modify existing J2EE applications.
- Maintain documentation/Javadocs for code written.
- Deploy applications in Development and QA environments.
- Investigate and troubleshoot application issues.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, systems programming, data communication, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
- A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience as described in “1” above, including one year in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to “1”or”2” above. College education may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience in “2” above on the basis that 60 semester credits from an accredited college is equated to one year of experience. A masters degree in computer science or a related computer field may be substituted for one year of required experience in “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least one year of satisfactory full-time experience in a project leader capacity or as a major contributor on a complex project.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Five years hands-on experience in J2EE development, with a minimum of two years in web services development.
- Experience writing database stored procedures and queries using PL/SQL.
- Solid knowledge of SOAP, XML, WSDL, JMS, JDBC and EJB’s.
- Experience in Java Server Faces (JSF) development, JSP, HTML, CSS, AJAX and Javascript.
- Experience in at least one of the following application servers: Jboss/Tomcat, WebSphere or WebLogic.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with creating BPEL and ESB processes within Oracle SOA framework is a plus.
SKILLS DESIRED:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Solid Java skills and advanced knowledge of web services development and security.
