Business Analyst - Process and Information Management
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Business Analyst will work directly with client departments to enhance and create automated business processes according to requirements and specifications that meet the needs of the department or process in question. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Design electronic forms and write system and user documentation.
- Conduct and document process, workflow and dataflow analyses which include, but are not limited to, process flow charts, GANTT charts and narrative to accompany the diagrams.
- Perform business process re-engineering as required.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, and obtain sign-off from clients on the specifications.
- Work with a technical analyst to ensure that technical specifications meet the documented business functionality.
- Day-to-day management of change requests in relation to the project plans to ensure that agreed deadlines and costs are met, which includes weekly reports demonstrating progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business, or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or a closely related field, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or
financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration,
recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management, or in a related area;
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in "1" above.
SKILLS DESIRED:
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Ability to identify practical business and technology improvements to meet complex business process challenges.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Excellent customer interaction skills.
- Well organized with an attention to detail.
- Independent, with ability to work well in a team environment.
- Through knowledge of Visio, System Architect or other requirements tools, as well as PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of forms design using Adobe In Design or other design tools.
Note:  Preference will be given to candidates that have taken and passed the most recent Associate Staff Analyst exam.
