		Health of Older Adults in New York City Public Housing The New York City Housing Authority in collaboration with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Department for the Aging, and the City University of Ney York School of Public Health at Hunter College has published a comprehensive study concerning access to health care and community services for NYCHA’s senior population. The Health of Older Adults in New York City Public Housing report presents findings and recommendations based on a survey of NYCHA seniors as well as recommendations for the wider community. Many of the next steps for these agencies were developed within the framework of NYCHA’s Plan to Preserve Public Housing. Health of Older Adults in New York City Public Housing (in PDF)


		Safety and Security Task Force Report The Safety and Security Task Force, a partnership among the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), Citywide Council of Presidents (CCOP), and New York City Police Department (NYPD), released its first detailed report on the work it has accomplished to make public housing in New York City safer and more secure for residents. Recommendations made by the Task Force have led to numerous solutions that improve safety in NYCHA developments, including the upcoming installation of layered access control in Mott Haven Houses, the creation of Resident Watch and standardizing signage throughout all buildings. Brought about by collaboration between NYCHA and the CCOP, the Safety and Security Task Force convened for the first time in December 2009.
