HHC's efforts to maintain a lead in medical and information technology have been recognized by numerous leading national organizations.
The HHC Network that includes Lincoln, Metropolitan and Harlem Hospitals won the coveted Nicholas E. Davies technology innovation award presented by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society in 2006. Only 22 other hospitals in the country have won this award throughout its 11-year history.
The award honored the network's successful development and innovative use of electronic health records to improve healthcare delivery, including the implementation of electronic medication administration documentation. This was the second Davies Award for HHC. The Queens Health Network received the award in 2002 for its Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) system.
HHC's North Bronx Healthcare Network of Jacobi
Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital also received IT
leadership status. From 2002 through 2005 they were listed among the 100
“Most Wired” hospitals in the United States by Hospitals and Health
Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association.
