May 14, 2004 - Brooklyn (The Musical) will soon hit Broadway, along with a whole host of new summer and fall openings. Here's a sneak peek at a few of the plays on their way to Broadway:
The Frogs
Opens July 22, Vivian Beaumont Theatre
An adaptation of the work of Aristophanes, The Frogs is the story of a Greek god who travels to Hades to bring back a writer whose works will help save the world. Starring Nathan Lane and Chris Kattan.
After the Fall
Opens July 29, American Airlines Theatre
This revival of Arthur Miller’s classic play follows a lawyer who examines his mother’s death and his past relationships to explain the problems with his life.
Dracula, The Musical
Opens August 5, Belasco Theatre
Bram Stoker’s horror novel about Dracula’s quest for blood is put to music and set on stage, directed by Des McAnuff.
Reckless
Opens October 14, Biltmore Theatre
This drama follows the story of a woman who leaves her estranged family behind to travel across the country. Starring Mary-Louise Parker and directed by Mark Brokaw.
Brooklyn, The Musical
Opens October 21, Shubert Theatre
Set on the streets of Brooklyn, this musical follows a French girl named Brooklyn who arrives in the City searching for her father.
Democracy
Opens November 18, Brooks Atkinson Theatre
This play set in 1969 West Germany follows a liberal German Chancellor and his assistant, who unbeknownst to him is a double-agent.
