The City of New York and Columbia Pictures announced today that the week of April 30 through May 6 will be “Spider-Man Week In NYC.” A variety of festivities are planned for all five boroughs, involving New York City landmarks such as the Central Park and Bronx Zoos, the American Museum of Natural History and the Apollo Theater. A highlight of the week will be the Tribeca Film Festival’s premiere of Spider-Man 3 in Queens, Peter Parker’s hometown, with additional screenings in all boroughs.

The Summer Play Festival (SPF) and MOFTB Announce Free Industry Panel with the Creative Team Behind "Grey Gardens: The Musical"

The Living Room for Artists Inc/Summer Play Festival (SPF) and The Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB) will present its first panel of 2007 - a case study examining the Broadway hit, "Grey Gardens: The Musical" - on Saturday, April 14. Titled "Grey Gardens: The Creation of a Musical," the panel is designed to examine the development process of a musical, from its origins off-Broadway, to its opening night on Broadway. The panel will be moderated by Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. Panelists include Michael Greif (Director), Randall Wreghitt (Producer), Scott Frankel (Music), Michael Korie (Lyrics), and Christie Evangelisto (Director of Musical Theater Programming, Playwrights Horizons).

The Museum of Television and Radio Presents the 10th Annual urban Visionaries Youth Film Festival

The Urban Visionaries Youth Film Festival – which marks its 10th anniversary this year – will take place on March 29th and March 30th, 2007 at the Museum of Television and Radio in Manhattan. The festival showcases fiction, documentary, and experimental videos created by young filmmakers that explore issues affecting young people today. All the work screened in the festival is created by teens; entries are reviewed and selected by a volunteer committee of young people who critique and celebrate the work of their peers.
