“Made in NY” Discounts Expand to the Moon
May 1, 2006 The Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting continues to drive down production costs throughout the City - and at the Moon.


Martha Celebrates “Made in NY” Program
May 1, 2006 On April 26, Martha Stewart presented a "Made in NY" shirt to new New York Yankee Johnny Damon on her television show "Martha." Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, attended the show and brought “Made in NY” shirts for the entire studio audience.


Golden Trailers Park in Gotham
May 1, 2006 This year, the 7th annual Golden Trailer Awards will return to New York City after four years in Los Angeles. Known as the “Academy Awards for the short attention-spanned,” the irreverent show bestows awards on film trailers in 16 categories, including “Best Thriller,” “Best Comedy,” and “Best Music.”


Creative Crafts Give Kudos to City
May 1, 2006 Numerous New York City television shows were honored with Creative Craft Daytime Emmy awards at the 33rd annual ceremony held simultaneously in New York City and Los Angeles on April 22. The Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting salutes the City's winners:


Brooklyn Home of ‘World’ Record
May 1, 2006 On April 3, “As the World Turns” celebrated its 50th anniversary of shooting in New York City. To commemorate the event, Julianne Cho, Assistant Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, presented a Mayoral proclamation declaring April 3 as “As the World Turns Day” in the City of New York, during a celebration attended by cast and crew.


Brooklyn Arts Council's 40th International Film and Video Festival
May 1, 2006 The Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) International Film and Video Festival, now in its 40th year, is the longest running event of its kind in Brooklyn. Each year, the Festival provides opportunities for film and video artists from New York and around the world to show their work, often for the first time, to other artists, critics, and the media at free screenings throughout the city.

April 1, 2006 Whether you’re scouting for a church to shoot in or a cup of coffee, now you can do it at a discount when you “make it in New York.” Numerous new vendors have joined the “Made in NY” discount card program, which offers active New York City productions discounts at hundreds of local vendors, lowering the cost of production and driving business to our local communities.
