February 1, 2006 On February 2, "The View" will celebrate it’s 2000th show “Made in NY”. The daytime television show, which has won 18 Emmy awards and is in its ninth season, features discussions and interviews with figures from news and entertainment, from the point of view of five women of different ages and walks of life.

"Producers," "Law" & "Love" Steal City Shelters
February 1, 2006 The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting’s January bus shelter campaign promoted the “Made in NY” film The Producers and television show “Love Monkey,” as well as the “Law & Order” brand.


"Love Monkey" Loves the Arts
February 1, 2006 When the new CBS television series "Love Monkey" premiered on January 17, New York viewers enjoyed a fun new comedy shot on location around our City, as well as a production that financially supports arts programs in City public schools.


Dunkin’ Donuts “Jams” in New York
February 1, 2006 “Traffic Jam,” a commercial for Dunkin’ Donuts in which a cup of joe helps a New Yorker navigate through traffic jams, recently shot in the Big Apple. The production staged traffic jams on Broadway and 26th Street, where 30 picture cars and dozens of extras were brought in, and on the Clearview Expressway, where a traffic jam was staged with 100 cars, including buses and flatbed trucks.


100 “Intents” Make City Proud
February 1, 2006 On January 11, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB) celebrated the 100th episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" – each one of which has been “Made in NY.” At a celebration attended by cast and crew, Deputy Commissioner John Battista presented a Mayoral proclamation declaring the day “Law & Order: Criminal Intent Day” in the City of New York.

February 1, 2006 Last month, numerous vendors across the City joined the “Made in NY” discount card program, offering reductions of at least 10 percent to productions currently working in New York.


Theatrical Productions Take Advantage of "Made in NY" Discount Card
January 31, 2006 The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting today announced the eligibility of theatrical productions to partake in discounts at hundreds of vendors across the five boroughs, in an initiative that will lower the cost of theatrical production in New York and drive business to local communities. Beginning today, theatrical productions are eligible to receive the “Made in NY” discount card, which was launched this June for film and television productions and has grown to include more than 400 vendors offering goods and services at discounted rates to the industry.


MOFTB and SPF Address Careers in Theatrical Management
January 23, 2006 On January 21, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB) and The Living Room for Artists/ Summer Play Festival (SPF) presented a panel which addressed careers in theatrical management. Moderated by Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, panelists David Auster, Associate General Manager of 101 Productions, Steve Winton, CEO of Clear Channel Theatrical and Harold Wolpert, Managing Director of the Roundabout Theatre Company, provided expertise on how to break into theatre management, and the various roles and responsibilities in the field.
