December 30, 2005 This month, production costs for goods ranging from equipment to massages got a little lower, thanks to the addition of new vendors offering discounts to the industry through the “Made in NY” discount card program.

December 30, 2005 Mark your calendar to tune into CBS for “Love Monkey,” airing on Tuesdays at 9:00 pm beginning on January 17. The “Made in NY” production stars Tom Cavanagh and Jason Priestly. Based on Kyle Smith’s eponymous book, it focuses on four friends in different phases of marriage and relationships, as told by one of their single friends in the music industry.

Hairspray Brings Middle Schoolers to Broadway
December 30, 2005 The introduction of the first-of-its-kind "Made in NY" incentive program led to a banner year for film and television production in New York City -- bringing $600 million worth of new production business to the City and creating jobs for more than 6,000 New Yorkers. As a direct result of the "Made in NY" incentive program, over 250 independent and studio films and a lineup of over 100 new and returning television productions shot in New York City's streets and studios in 2005.


Panel Series to Connect New Yorkers to Employment Opportunities in Theatre Industry
December 27, 2005 The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB) and The Living Room for Artists/ Summer Play Festival (SPF) today announced a quarterly panel series to support entry-level jobs in theatre in New York City. The MOFTB and SPF will co-produce four panels next year, addressing careers in acting, theatre management and theatrical production and support. The program is intended to educate New Yorkers about the diverse job roles in the industry, and connect them with resources, organizations and opportunities in the field.
