MOFTB/Kodak Deliver "Picture Perfect" Marketing
May 1, 2005 The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting has partnered with Kodak to deliver advertising for the “Made in NY” production The Interpreter. A thirty second spot for the film is tagged with “Made in NY” and and “Shot on KODAK Motion Picture Film”, and is running on KODAK’s Times Square Gallery on the front of the Marriott Marquis in New York. Every day, the spot is played 100 times and is viewed by an estimated 1 million people.

Emmys Go to NYC-TV
May 1, 2005 Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg recently congratulated NYC TV, the official TV network of the City of New York, on winning eight New York Emmy Awards on April 3. NYC TV had been nominated for thirteen New York Emmys, local television’s most coveted peer-recognition award.


Comedy Central Sold on Stella
May 1, 2005 Stella, a pilot which shot in New York City in September 2004, has been sold to Comedy Central and will shoot nine more episodes here in New York City beginning this month. The half-hour narrative comedy focuses on the adventures of three guys sharing an apartment in the City and is shot almost entirely in Brooklyn.


City Shines at Tribeca
May 1, 2005 The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB) had an expanded presence at last month’s Tribeca Film Festival, as part of a partnership designed to enhance awareness within its film community of the new incentives and benefits for making films in New York City.


Cingular Chooses City
May 1, 2005 The Cingular Wireless commercial “Workday,” which shot in New York City in January, features a man keeping in touch throughout his workday with his pregnant wife, thanks to his excellent cell phone reception. The commercial shot at numerous City locations including Grand Central Station, Columbia University, Brooklyn, SoHo and Tribeca.


BFF is Back!
May 1, 2005 The 8th annual Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), formerly known as the Williamsburg Brooklyn Film Festival (WBFF), will take place this year from June 3-12. This year, the festival will show 180 films from among 1,734 submissions from 80 countries. It will feature screenings and events at the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Historical Society and Brooklyn Children’s Museum.


VH1 and Time Warner Cable Rock for City Schools
April 1, 2005 On February 28, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, VH1 President and VH1 Save The Music Foundation Chairman Christina Norman, and Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey Senior Vice President & General Manager Barbara Kelly announced the donation of over $1 million worth of new musical instruments to the New York City public school system.
