December 1, 2006 – Applying for New York City’s five percent tax credit for qualified film and television productions just got a little easier, thanks to a revised, shortened initial application for the credit. The initial application – known as Form A – is now seven pages instead of fourteen, as a result of the elimination of redundant and unnecessary tables. At the same time, the form includes new questions, such as a request for data on diversity and for a shooting schedule and script, as well as a statement by the applicant agreeing to include appropriate acknowledgements in the film's screen credits.
Revised instructions, along with a revised final application (form D) will soon also be available. Click here to access the new form and for more information on the “Made in NY” tax credit.
