Great White Way’s “Extra” Performances to Benefit the Actors Fund

December 1, 2005 - Each year, every Broadway show does an “extra” performance as a benefit for the Actors’ Fund of America, a nonprofit organization that supports the essential needs of entertainment professionals in theatre, film, television, music, opera, and dance. And on December 12 at 7:00 pm, the Fund will present its own special one-night-only benefit performance of A Wonderful Life, the musical inspired by the classic film, starring Brian Stokes Mitchell, Judy Kuhn, David Hyde Pierce, Dominic Chianese, Phylicia Rashad, Philip Bosco, Marian Seldes, Michael Berresse, and many more, at the Shubert Theatre. For tickets or more information, call 212.221.7300 x133 or click here.

In addition, on January 5 and January 9, the New York Times’ 5th Annual Arts & Leisure Weekend will be book-ended by two exciting events benefiting The Actors’ Fund. On Thursday, January 5, the Fund will present a special auction at Christie’s where participants can bid on a walk-on in RENT, a golf outing with Bill Murray, and other special experiences and memorabilia. And on Monday, January 9, the Weekend will close with a special talk featuring a surprise musical guest. Click here for more information.

For over 120 years the Fund has provided social services, health programs, supportive and affordable housing, employment and training, and emergency assistance, to those in crisis, need, or transition. Stay tuned to www.actorsfund.org for more information, and for details on other special upcoming performances.
