December 1, 2005 - A new -- and unconventional-- network has blasted onto New York’s production scene. ChannelBlast, an interactive digital network produced by Aronow Communications, broadcasts live to the internet each weekday. Past shows can also be viewed on the web.
This fall, the network began its first show, Newzviewz, in which guest “citizen commentators” debate hot topics in the news selected by viewers, and interact with audiences by telephone and instant message. The show, which broadcasts weekdays at 7pm, will be fully interactive by December 19. Channelblast has a slate of additional programming in the works, all of which will be produced right here in the Big Apple. The network expects to launch at least a dozen shows by March 2005.
"New York has always been the world's media hub, so it's appropriate and terribly exciting to base ChannelBlast right here in midtown,” Executive Producer Mark Lipsky said. “Where else can you find such excellence and scope in terms of production personnel, or as deep a pool of on-air talent?”
