Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup shoot Trust the Man on West 59th Street
December 1, 2004 - Last month, the independent film Trust the Man shot exclusively in Manhattan.
The film stars Julianne Moore, who lives in Manhattan and has become an icon of the local film industry. Her Big Apple credits include The Forgotten, Laws of Attraction, The Hours, and the forthcoming Marie and Bruce.
“New York City has incredible access to talent and unbelievably skilled artisans,” Moore said. “The City offers myriad possibilities. I think it's the only place in the world where you simultaneously find a sense of community and a sense of anonymity. If you want that iconic image, you will find the Empire State Building, Central Park or Wollman Rink, but then there's also … DUMBO, other areas of Chelsea and Brooklyn. There's so much that remains undiscovered.”
The screenplay for Trust the Man was written by Moore's husband, Bart Freundlich. Moore co-stars in the romantic comedy alongside David Duchovny, who recently shot House of D and Zoolander in New York City.
Trust the Man shot in some of the City's most iconic locations, including St. Mark's Church, Serendipity 3, Marc Jacobs, and locations in Greenwich Village and Kips Bay.
