November 1, 2005 – New York City productions had a strong presence at last month’s Hamptons Film Festival, which included the “Made in NY” films Prime, Naked Brothers Band and Brooklyn Lobster.
Brooklyn Lobster tells the story of a Brooklyn family struggling to hold on to their seafood business. The film stars Danny Aiello and Jane Curtin.
The Naked Brothers Band tells the story of two child prodigies who start their own band at the age of five. The independent film stars Nat Wolff, age 9, and Alex Wolff, age 5, and was supported by numerous members of New York City’s production industry who made cameo appearances, including Uma Thurman and Julianne Moore.
Prime released in theatres on October 28, 2005. The film, which stars Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep, tells the story of a Brooklyn painter who falls in love with an older Manhattan career woman. The production shot in New York from September - November 2004, employing 100 cast and crew members.
