November 1, 2005 - On October 21, the National Television Academy honored Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, at the Public & Community Service Emmy Awards. The Emmys were awarded at the Marriott Marquis, during an event in which the Academy also celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

“Commissioner Oliver has dramatically raised the prominence of New York City as an attractive destination for film and television production with the vigorous support of Mayor Michael Bloomberg,” Peter Price, National Television Academy President & CEO, said. “By forging economic incentives and promoting ‘Made in NY,’ … Katherine Oliver has rekindled the rich history of the city as the home of great entertainment.”
