October 1, 2004 - One of New York City's most popular broadcasters will soon be seen on the big screen! Luis Jimenez, the host of La Mega WSKQ/97.9 FM's morning show El Vacilón de la Mañana, has a movie based on his radio program in the works in New York City.

Jimenez's Spanish radio program, which translates to “The Morning Party,” is the highest-rated Spanish language radio show in the United States. The upcoming film will be a comedy about Jimenez's search for a movie deal, with plot lines inspired by callers to his radio show.

"In New York, we have first- and second-generation immigrants,” Jimenez said. We have people from South and Central America and the islands. So instead of trying to say something in twelve languages, we've developed our own language. It ties us all together."

El Vacilón de la Mañana began production in New York City last month, and is scheduled to release in February 2005.
