September 1, 2005 – This year, Amadeus Press/Limelight Editions released an updated edition of the 1999 guide “Manhattan on Film: Walking Tours of Hollywood’s Fabled Back Lot,” by Chuck Katz. The guidebook reminisces about some of the most famous scenes set across the City.
“What New York offers that no other city can match, is an unending supply of real life movie locations,” Katz said. “No other city offers the variety of homes, stores, restaurants, parks, office buildings and even winding streets that New York does. Whether it's a winding street in Chinatown, a charming brownstone in Greenwich Village or a former mansion two blocks from the Guggenheim Museum, Manhattan guarantees that you don't have to walk far before walking beside, in front of or near a setting that has helped define this great City to the rest of the world. There are plenty of locations to go around, which makes the life of a filmmaker so much easier.”
