Fest to Help Pilots Land Before Networks

September 1, 2005 – From September 28- October 3, Greenwich Village will be home to the first-ever New York Television Festival. The festival will allow television producers, directors and writers to showcase pilots for possible distribution. It will also include panels, screenings and events designed to celebrate the history of television programming, attended by networks programming executives, managers, agents, artists and the general public.

“There is no better location for this festival than New York City, the entertainment capital of the world,” Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said. “We are thrilled that the festival will provide a platform for our City’s talented television industry to showcase its creative work.”

"The city officials we have met with, particularly those in the Mayor’s office, have been very gracious about devoting their time and energy toward NYTVF's creation of an event that all New Yorkers can enjoy," Terence Gray, Executive Director of the Festival, said.
