Bollywood's Back in the Big Apple

September 1, 2005 – Bollywood Hollywood Production, Inc. has announced plans to produce portions of two Indian films in New York City this fall.

Jaaneman (Beloved), a comedic love story, will be the directorial debut of acclaimed Bollywood editor Shirish Kunder and will shoot throughout TriBeCa, SoHo and Greenwich Village.

Yun Hota To Kya, What If?… tells the story of Indian immigrants to the United States and will be directed by Naseeruddin Shah, who was introduced to American audiences as Capitan Nemo in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

“Bollywood Hollywood Production is thrilled that Jaaneman and ...What If? will be filming in New York, one of the most vibrant and culturally rich cities in the world,” Rachel Astarte Piccione of Bollywood Hollywood said.

"We are proud that Jaaneman and Yun Hota To Kya Hota will be 'made in New York,'" Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said. "New York's rich crews, talent pool and locations have long made our City a gathering ground for a diverse group of filmmakers to tell their stories, and we look forward to working closely with more international films to facilitate their production in our spectacular city."
