Independentfeatures.com to Hold Festival in Independent Film Capital of the World, New York City

Alleyball, a comedy starring Larry Joe Campbell, is a submission for the Independentfeatures.com Independent Film Festival

July 1, 2007 - Independent Features, a newly launched website which showcases the independent filmmaking community, is holding a screening of the top 21 vote getters in an online poll for its inaugural Independent Film Festival. Independentfeatures.com went live on its website with more than 200 full-length features and short films submitted by independent filmmakers from across the globe on June 1. Throughout the month of June, broadband users were able to view each entry in its entirety and vote for what they considered the best film in several categories, including action, comedy, documentary, drama, foreign, horror, information and shorts.

The film festival will be taking place at the Tribeca Cinemas in the independent film capital of the world, New York City, from July 27 to July 29. In addition to screening the top finalists during the festival, the film receiving the most votes will have a red carpet premiere and a theatrical film distribution deal.

Submissions for this year’s festival include “The Tehuacan Project,” a documentary executive-produced by Brad Pitt and narrated by Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody; “Arctic Dance,” a documentary narrated by Harrison Ford; and “Alleyball,” a comedy starring “According to Jim’s” Larry Joe Campbell.

Independent Features also gives filmmakers the ability to distribute their films via the website using a zero-inventory DVD on-demand production model. Filmmakers will set the price point for the DVDs and earn all profits from product sales.
