Commissioner Oliver presents the "Made in NY" award to Oren Rudavsky, director of The Treatment
June 1, 2006- On May 6 at the Tribeca Film Festival, Commissioner Katherine Oliver presented the “Made in NY” award for Best Narrative Feature in the New York, New York category, sponsored by the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, to Oren Rudavsky, director of The Treatment. The film tells the story of a New York schoolteacher fighting his therapist's influence on his life as he falls in love.
“For me, [the award] it is a small vindication for all the hard work so many people put into the making of the film over the years of labor, writing the script, raising the money, casting the film and finally producing it,” Rudavsky said. “Shooting in New York City, often blocks from my home on the Upper West Side, was a blast. New Yorkers enjoy seeing films being made … And the city is a great location, every darn block of it, every borough, every streetlight, rain gutter and unwitting extra crossing the street.”
