On April 20, Commissioner Katherine Oliver discussed the openings of numerous Broadway productions, including Three Days of Rain, The Threepenny Opera, The Wedding Singer, and Awake and Sing! during her “Commissioner's Picks” segment on WQXR.

Three Days of Rain, starring Julia Roberts, opened on April 19 at the Bernard B. Jacobs theatre. The revival of The Threepenny Opera, a social satire, opened at Studio 54 on April 20. The Wedding Singer, based on the eponymous film, debuted on April 27 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. And Awake and Sing! opened on April 17 at the Belasco theatre, and tells the story of a Jewish family living in the Bronx during the Depression.

The segment was part of the City's partnership with WQXR which highlights the City's cultural events, destinations and history. Click here for more information.
