May 1, 2005 – The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting has partnered with Kodak to deliver advertising for the “Made in NY” production The Interpreter. A thirty second spot for the film is tagged with “Made in NY” and and “Shot on KODAK Motion Picture Film”, and is running on KODAK’s Times Square Gallery on the front of the Marriott Marquis in New York. Every day, the spot is played 100 times and is viewed by an estimated 1 million people.
“At the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, we are committed to delivering market exposure in the country’s largest market to 'Made in NY' productions,” Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said. “The advertising on the KODAK Times Square Gallery, as well as on the Reuters sign and bus shelter posters throughout the five boroughs, are each a part of the 'Made in NY' incentive program’s marketing credit. The new incentive has made New York City more attractive than ever to filmmakers, and highlights our commitment to supporting ‘Made in NY’ productions from script to screen.”
