Support For Small Theatre Companies

May 1, 2004 - Theatre companies in search of sponsorship can now get by with a little help from their friends at J.P. Morgan Chase. The J.P. Morgan Chase Fund for Small Theatres is again offering support to small theatre companies.

The fund is offering grants between $2,000 and $7,500 to theatre companies who:
1. are members of the Alliance of Resident Theatres (A.R.T.) New York
2. do not already receive support from J.P. Morgan Chase
3. have total organization annual cash expenses between $100,000 and $500,000

Applications for grants are being accepted between April 19, 2004 and May 14, 2004. All applications will receive responses by July 30, and grants are to be used for operating support between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005.

Applications are available online in the publications section of www.offbroadwayonline.com/members. To request a printed application, contact TJ Witham at 212-244-6667 ext 226 or tjwitham@art-newyork.org . Completed applications should be sent to A.R.T. New York, 575 Eighth Avenue, Suite 17 South, New York, NY 10018, and must be received by 5 p.m. on May 14.

For further information on the Fund, contact Mary Harpster at 212-244-6667 ext 225, or mharpster@art-newyork.org . Theatre companies who do not qualify for this grant because their operating expenses are too small should also contact Ms. Harpster for information on the Nancy Quinn Fund grant.
