New York City Welcomes New Radio Host

Faith Salie, host of Fair Game from PRI

By Kwame Patterson

April 2, 2007 - As a recent transplant from Los Angeles, Faith Salie, host of the new Fair Game from PRI with Faith Salie, loves her new city.

Her show, now broadcasting nationally out of the WNYC Radio studios at 1 Centre Street and airing in New York on WNYC-AM 820, Monday through Friday, at 8pm., takes on the day's news and entertainment stories from around the world.

“It’s great to be in New York City because here, news breaks three hours earlier (than on the west coast),” she said.

The show also features newsmaker and celebrity interviews, such as New York Congressmen Charles Rangel, comedian/actor John Leguizamo and designer and reality TV star Tim Gunn, who starred on Project Runway, which was filmed in New York City.

Other recent New York guest on Salie’s show have been actors and actresses in the upcoming Broadway play “Legally Blonde,” which opens April 29, and New York columnist Liz Smith.

"It's a pleasure being in New York,” she said. “I feel thinner just being here.”
