February 1, 2006 – This spring, productions are positively enchanted with New York City. Films gearing up about town include:
Disney's Enchanted, which tells the story of a peasant girl who is banished from her animated, fairy tale world by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon), and dropped into live action New York City.
Continuing the theme, August Rush will be a fairy tale-like drama set in Central Park, about an orphan who uses his musical talents to reunite with his birth parents. Robin Williams stars in the film.
Meanwhile, Perfect Stranger, starring Halle Berry and Bruce Willis, will “rush” viewers into the obsessive world of online love, where a woman investigating her friend’s murder goes undercover.
Also doing some investigating will be a homicide detective played by Edward Norton in Pride & Glory, who investigates a scandal in a New York City precinct, and discovers his best friend(Colin Farrell) may be a corrupt cop.
Stay tuned to nyc.gov/film for more productions bringing pride and glory to New York City.
