PA Training Program graduate Myo Campbell works on the set of "I Am Legend"
January 1, 2007 - Less than a year since the first graduates of the “Made in NY” Production Assistant (P.A.) Training Program began working in the industry, graduates are not only finding regular employment as Production Assistants, but are also starting to move up into more advanced positions in the industry.
“Made in NY” graduates have worked in paid positions including Second Second Assistant Director, Assistant Locations Manager, Assistant Production Coordinator, Boom Operator, Camera P.A., Key P.A., Key Office P.A., Grip, Hair Stylist, Locations Assistant, Wardrobe Assistant and Wardrobe Supervisor.
“The success of the graduates of this program is a testament not only to the extraordinary training and career development support that Brooklyn Workforce Innovations is providing, but also to the City's success in attracting new business to create jobs for New Yorkers,” Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said. “The talented graduate pool of this program is creating an even stronger crew base which will continue to bring business to the City and ensure that productions work collaboratively when shooting on location.”
