January 1, 2007
- Applications are now available for the “Made in NY” Production Assistant Training Program! Developed by the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting with our partner, Brooklyn Workforce Innovations, the program offers a free full-time month-long training course followed by two years of career development services (including job placement). The program was designed to provide a diverse group of New Yorkers with training for and access to career opportunities within the production industry, and to teach crews to work collaboratively with the communities in which they shoot.

Training sessions will be held throughout 2007. The next session begins on January 29. Applications for this session will be accepted until January 12; applications received after that date will be considered for a session planned for April. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, be at least 21 years old, and be residents of New York City.

If you are interested in applying for the “Made in NY” PA Training Program, please email your full name, mailing address and email address to productioncareers@fifthave.org. In the Subject Line enter: “Made in NY” PA Training Program. You will receive an email from BWI with information on program eligibility requirements and how to apply. You may also visit BWI's office at 621 DeGraw Street, Brooklyn, NY, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm to begin your application. Please bring your driver's license with you.
