Bridge & Tunnel Navigates to Great White Way

December 30, 2005 – This winter, stay tuned for the numerous new productions making their way to the Great White Way:

Bridge & Tunnel, directed by Tony Taccone, previews January 12, 2006 at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Opening night is January 26. The show, which stars Sarah Jones, is a Broadway version of the Off-Broadway one-woman-show set in an ethnically diverse community poetry slam.

Rabbit Hole, directed by Daniel Sullivan, previews January 12, 2006 at the Biltmore Theatre. Opening night is February 2. The show stars Cynthia Nixon, Tyne Daly and John Slattery in a drama about a happy family that goes through a life-shattering event.

Barefoot In The Park, directed by Scott Elliott, previews January 24, 2006 at the Cort Theatre. This revival of Neil Simon’s 1963 comedy is about a couple trying to enjoy themselves in a tiny New York apartment. The show stars Patrick Wilson, Amanda Peet, Jill Clayburgh and Tony Roberts.

The Pajama Game, directed by Kathleen Marshall, previews January 27, 2006 at the American Airlines theatre. Harry Connick, Jr. stars in this revival of a musical tale of love among labor strife. The show opens March 2.

The Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Musical Show, directed by Richard Maltby, Jr. previews February 8, 2006 at the Barrymore Theatre. The show stars Jarrod Emick and Lari White in a musical retelling stories about Johnny Cash and including 38 songs by the artists. The show opens March 12.

Jay Johnson: The Two and Only, previews at the Helen Hayes Theater on March 21, 2006 with an opening night on April 3. The show is directed by Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel and stars Jay Johnson. It features the actor-ventriloquist performing a solo act about his mentor at the Atlantic Theater Company.

Well, directed by Leigh Silverman, previews March 10, 2006 at the Longacre Theatre. The show stars Lisa Kron and Jayne Houdyshell in Kron’s “solo with other people” show about health, her mother, and her life. It opens March 30.

The Threepenny Opera, directed by Scott Elliott, previews March 24, 2006 at Studio 54. The show stars Alan Cumming, Edie Falco, Nellie McKay and Jim Dale in this staging of the Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill musical. Wallace Shawn translated and adapted the story. It opens April 20.

Three Days of Rain, directed by Joe Mantello, previews March 28, 2006 at the Jacobs Theatre. Julia Roberts, Paul Rudd and Bradley Cooper star in this revival of Richard Greenberg’s drama about a love triangle and the children involved. It opens April 19.

The Wedding Singer, directed by John Rando, previews in March 2006 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The show is a musical version of the 1998 film about an unlucky wedding singer. The cast will include Stephen Lynch, Laura Benanti, Kevin Cahoon and Felicia Finley. It opens April 27.

Lestat previews March 11, 2006 at the Palace Theatre. It is directed by Robert Jess Roth and stars Hugh Panaro, Carolee Carmello and Jack Noseworthy. The show which opens April 13 is Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s musical about the lead character in Anne Rice’s vampire novels.

Awake and Sing! is directed by Barlett Sher and previews March 23, 2006 at the Belasco Theatre. It opens April 17 and is set during the Depression, focusing on a Jewish family in the Bronx.
