January 1, 2005 - The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting recently liaised with NBC’s The Apprentice 2 and the New York Police Department (NYPD) to facilitate an episode in which contestants on the reality television show create promotional campaigns for the Department. The show’s shoot at the NYPD’s Floyd Bennett Field facility coincided with a day of training for officers, giving the production crew access to officers, emergency service personnel and vehicles including motorbikes, harbor boats and helicopters.
The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting assisted the show as part of its expanded concierge services which provide for storyboard tie-ins to other City agencies and initiatives, including the 311 hotline for City services, the City’s bid for the 2012 Olympics, and the Made in NY campaign.
