Confessions of a Shopaholic will be released in theatres this Friday, February 13th. The film shot from December 2007 to April 2008.

Confessions of a Shopaholic , a comedy from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, tells the story of Rebecca Bloomwood, a fun-loving girl who is a little too good at shopping. She dreams of working for her favorite fashion magazine, but can't quite get her foot in the door. Ultimately however, she snags a job as a columnist for a financial magazine published by the same company. As she works through the machinations of the magazine, she goes to ever more hilarious and extreme efforts to keep her past from ruining her future.

In a film centered around shopping, it only makes sense that locations up and down Manhattan are featured throughout the film. While several scenes were shot in Connecticut and Miami, the majority of the film takes place in New York City. Kristin Zea, the film’s production designer, has a background in costume design and knows some of the city’s hottest and hippest fashion spots. Shooting everywhere from the super-high fashion of Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue, to the Meatpacking District, Tribeca, SoHo and the Lower East Side, the film’s look plays up the fashion forward elements of these locations.

The production hit several New York City historic locations, including St. James Church, St. Anthony of Padua, the Grand Salon of the Jumeirah Essex House hotel on Central Park South, the majestic former Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank in the Wall Street district, Lord Norman Foster's Hearst Tower, and the exterior of Rockefeller Center. A nighttime interlude with Rebecca and the film’s leading man was shot on a landscaped Rockefeller Center terrace with the landmark St. Patrick's Cathedral and the equally churchlike edifice of Saks Fifth Avenue, directly across the street.

The film stars Isla Fisher who shot Definitely, Maybe in New York City in 2007 with Hugh Dancy, John Goodman, Joan Cusack and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Confessions of a Shopaholic also shot scenes at:
Scoop Clothing Store, Washington Street
Henri Bendel’s on Fifth Avenue
Barney’s Department Store on Madison Avenue
Kleinfeld Bridal Shop on 6th Avenue
Catharine Maladrino on Hudson Street
Mott Street and Prince Street
Voodoo Vox on Fifth Avenue
The Sheffield on 57th Street
Angel Thrift Shop on 6th Avenue
