MOFTB Launches Online Permit System

The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting now accepts permit applications online at https://nyceventpermits.nyc.gov/film/. Productions will have the ability to apply for new project accounts and submit their location requests from any computer with internet access. Productions must submit their applications at least 48 business hours in advance to ensure that permits are processed and that all parking requests are granted.

Oversized Vehicle Permit Procedure: An oversized vehicle permit is required for any single vehicle exceeding 35’ length (bumper to bumper), 8’ width or 13’6” height and for tractor/trailer vehicles exceeding 55’ length, 8’ width or 13’6”.

January 26, 2012 - Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Media & Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver visited the set of “Gossip Girl” – a “Made in NY” television series that films at Silvercup Studios in Long Island City – to announce that 2011 broke all records for television production in New York City and to celebrate the show’s 100th episode, which will air Monday, January 30th on The CW.

September 16, 2011 - The Creative NYC: Campaign against Content Theft summit took place at the Tweed Courthouse on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, and brought together representatives from the City of New York, the entertainment industry including the Motion Picture Association of America and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, academia and law enforcement, who participated in panels and provided a thoughtful review of the current state of digital piracy.

New York Extends and Expands 30% Production Tax Credit

The "Made in NY" Discount Card Application, created by developers WFT Productions, helps users find vendors who participate in the "Made in NY" Discount Program. With around 1,000 vendors participating in the program, "Made in NY" cardholders can use this app to easily find the right vendor for their needs.
