The Made in NY Incentive Program

Made in NY logo

New York City’s “MADE IN NY” INCENTIVE PROGRAM offers film and television productions a slate of opportunities that make it more attractive than ever to shoot in the five boroughs, featuring incentives and discounts - along with expanded customer services for production.

Tax Credit – New York City’s “Made in NY” tax credit for qualified film and television production reached its allocation of funds in 2009. The credit has expired as of December 31, 2011. For information about the NY State 30% credit, contact the New York State Governor’s Office for Motion Picture and Television Development at 212-803-2330 or at www.nylovesfilm.com.

Marketing Credit - For film and television productions that complete 75% of their work in New York City.  Outdoor media valued at 1% of NYC production costs will be offered, in the form of bus shelters, to participating productions for co-branded advertising related to the “Made in NY” production.

In conjunction with the marketing credit, a Cultural Benefit allows productions to make a cultural donation equal to .1% of their production costs, to a not-for-profit cultural institution of their choice, in exchange for the marketing credit. The donation would be made in the name of talent or an executive associated with the project, and is intended to support the theatrical, film, writing, and other local arts institutions that nurture upcoming talent and strengthen the City’s creative community.

“Made in NY” Discount Card - Available to bona fide productions shooting in the City, the “Made in NY” discount card provides discounts and special offers when presented to participating vendors, including hotels, airlines, car rental and messenger services, banking services, production services and more. Click here for more information.

“Made in NY” Logo - This “Mark of Distinction” is awarded to projects where at least 75% of the overall production was made in New York City and is used in the production credits of all shows participating in the “Made in NY” program.

Concierge Service - Expanded service supports the entire production cycle.

- Scouting assistance and budget analysis
- Locations access to premium sites
