EMTs Win First Place in Florida EMS Competition

Three members of the FDNY’s EMS Command won first place in an EMS Competition in Daytona Beach, Fl., on Oct. 25.

Hosted by the Flagler County Emergency Medical Service, EMS Instructor Joe Fortis EMT Craig Rolonson and EMT Marcus Brandon competed against 18 teams from around the country.

EMTs Rolonson and Brandon, who graduated from the Academy on Oct. 15, were last minute replacements and only had three days to prepare for the competition.

“They were awesome, perfect,” said EMT Fortis. “I’m so proud of them.”
