NYC DOT Closes Beach Channel Drive Between Beach 108th Street and Rockaway Freeway in Queens
The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) has closed Beach Channel Drive between Beach 108 Street and Rockaway Freeway in Queens until further notice due to roadway conditions.
DOT has created a temporary detour while it inspects the one-block segment:
• Eastbound traffic on Beach Channel Drive will make a right on Rockaway Freeway to Beach 108th Street, and then a left to return to Beach Channel Drive.
• Westbound traffic will travel south on Beach 108th Street, right on Rockaway Freeway, and back to Beach Channel Drive.
DOT has placed Variable Message Boards (VMS) and barrels to reroute traffic along Rockaway Freeway and is coordinating with other agencies including NYPD and MTA.
