About the Citywide Colon Cancer Control Coalition (C5)

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene formed the Citywide Colon Cancer Control Coalition or C5 in March of 2003.  The mission of C5 is to help New York City attain colon cancer control goals through advocacy, resource development, and policy initiatives.  C5 strengthens DOHMH colon cancer prevention and control efforts by facilitating communication between the health department and relevant stakeholders— health and social service organizations, academic institutions, governmental agencies and advocacy groups.
