Return
Finance has a strong policy of tax secrecy. Only the taxpayer
or the taxpayer’s authorized representative may request a copy of a filed tax
return.
A fee of $1 per page will be charged. This information will
only be mailed to the business address on file.

Please include the following information:
- Name of business,
- Tax identification number (EIN or SSN),
- Tax type,
- Tax year or period, and
- The name and telephone number of a contact.
Authorized
Representatives: A representative must submit a signed Power of
Attorney from the taxpayer with their request for a return(s).

Registering a New Business
New York State
Registration Requirements
• A you must also register your business with the State
of New York in order to do business in New York City
• Partnerships must
register with the County Clerk's Office where the business is
located.
• A sole proprietorship under a name other than your own, such
as a trade name or an assumed name (referred to as D.B.A., or "doing business
as"), must register with the County Clerk's Office where the business is
located.
• Corporations must register with
the Secretary of State,
Department of State, in Albany.
Federal Employer ID Number (EIN)
According to
federal law, corporations, partnerships, and certain sole proprietorships must
have an Employer Identification Number, or EIN, to use as a taxpayer
identification number. To do business in New York City, the EIN assigned by the
IRS is acceptable. No additional identifying number is required.
