In recognition that protecting our environment is critical to the continued health of our planet, the Buildings Department is forming the Buildings Sustainability Board to evaluate and approve new green technologies for use in New York City.
About the Advisory Board
The Department seeks to promote the use of renewable energy and encourage the use of power- and water-conserving technology in a safe manner.
The Mission of the Board
The Buildings Sustainability Board will review and evaluate new “green” technologies not addressed in the New York City Building Code and make recommendations for their application within New York City.
Who is on the Buildings Sustainability Board?
The board is composed of experts with a background in engineering, architecture, green development, or green design and technology.
