City that Drinks the Mountain Sky
Commissioner Christopher O. Ward welcomed hundreds of students to a performance of "City that Drinks the Mountain Sky" during the first annual Great Central Park Field Day on May 8, 2002.
Through a shimmering tapestry of poetry, puppetry and music, "City that Drinks the Mountain Sky" brought alive the lyrical landscape of the Catskill Mountain communities, the history of the New York City water supply system and the importance of clean water in our lives.
"City that Drinks the Mountain Sky" is a production of the Arm-of-the-Sea-Theater, a performing ensemble based in the Hudson Valley. The production was made possible by DEP through funds provided by the Catskill Watershed Corporation's Public Education Grant Program.
